Sticky bits are a nightmare to clean. I know, I did my own; and to do a proper job on the switches they need be disassembled. It is really tricky to get the tiny springs and plungers back in that keep the switch in the on position. My first attempt at cleaning the sticky bits was the switches. I used T-Cut and elbow grease washing off with pure washing up liquid and rinsing with water.

A solvent for the rubbery coating I'm told is Acetone. I've not tried it. I found Mr Muscle foam oven cleaner works well and doesn't affect the plastic shell, but whatever you use, do a test on the back first.

Alternatively you can pay for the privilege of someone else doing it for you. Nomorestickybits are in the US but have an International service.
